Description:

Fraternal Iron Dingoes Organization (FIDO) : Civilian Liaison/Logistics Group / Green / Questionable

The Fraternal Iron Dingoes Organization, or FIDO is a non-profit organization that provides programs, services and entertainment to registered citizens of * “The Iron Dingoes”, primarily aimed to supporting the unit’s dependents and common civilian citizenry. It relies completely on the mercenary Iron Dingoes for funding and personnel, though it welcomes private donations of time and skills in support of its activities. Although not an official government agency until recently, FIDO is considered the primary outreach program for the mercenary company’s landholds.

Every landhold community under Iron DIngoes control has a department of this organization, though only two of them are equipped to provide advanced services, and these groups are sent to the newest and least developed landhold communities, until basic infrastructure is available to support the community up to Dingoes standards. Extra units are based from * Landhold : Garrison, until assigned a designated community, and so support the efforts of the headquarters platoon in their duties.

It’s motto is “To ensure everyone is at home.”

Officers : Lead officer of the organization is Captain Pol Baca “Templar”, who takes a very personal interest in its activities and organization. He recruits from among regular personnel, but only accepts volunteers who are looking for a more community-minded support of their landholds, than a strictly combative military mind-set. Given the needs of the unit as a whole, there are very few units attached to this organization, but they are uniformly pro-Dingoes, and are really trying to make things better for their fellow citizens.

His supporting officers, Senior Tech Christopher Lucado (Dumassas) and Senior Tech Elinchrom Wellington (Gollere) operate as Templar’s seconds in their respective systems, ensuring the operations are maintained, and that the organization’s mandate is supported.

Support : Each FIDO team is equipped with a medical team, a technical team, administrative personnel and a handful of infantry to protect the unit’s personnel and its assets from casual theft. Vehicle are attached as required, and the units are given the usual tools and other assets of standard Line forces. Access to medical supplies and spare parts are easily acquired through the unit’s own logistics sources. The unit uses a yellow border on their traditional patches to identify them in service, but they otherwise conform to the regular uniform of the unit.

The 1st and 2nd are equipped with water purification and waste treatment equipment, as well as power generators and have access to other equipment as needed by the situations presenting themselves in each local community, as they are assigned. These teams are the first to step into a new community and have the best-trained members of the organization.

The 4th is a special case, as they are stationed on “The Factory”, equipped with second-line C80 Combat Environment Suits, and operate on the station as a whole, but are also called upon from time to time, to assist with emergency cases on that station, during its normal activities.

The 6th is another special case. The occupation of * Duchy of Tharn led to the assimilation of tens of millions of new “citizens” under the umbrella of the Iron Dingoes culture and administration, and so FIDO is faced with the difficulty of their assimilation and general uplift in technical capabilities. The handful of techs assigned to this site are natives recruited from among the local military families, and based from * Military Headquarters Randgeriz, where the majority of the region’s officer’s corps are assigned living quarters for their families. The organization cannot effectively reach-out to 17.5 million citizens, so it has concentrated its efforts among the local dependents and officer’s families, where it has grown with a wealth of local volunteers.

Tactics : The unit as a whole are service providers, but they are all trained soldiers first, with full infantry equipment and experience. As they are always volunteers, they have a great deal of loyalty towards the organization as a whole, and work hard to help their fellow citizens. They are not expected to fight pitched battles, but might have to defend their facilities and equipment from bandits, so follow a fairly rigorous protocol when “on-base” at their assigned facility, to ensure their valuable equipment and personnel are safe, They do not deploy with any heavy support weapons.

Community Friendship Medal

Community Friendship Medal : Designed in mid-3027, this silver medallion was developed as a reward to civilian volunteers who logged at least 400 hours of service time, for efforts in assisting the general community through the FIDO program. It is a highly regarded reward in the general landholds under Iron Dingoes control. “Clusters” are rewarded for subsequent service years, which are added to the medal ribbon to show long-term service.

In addition, meal rewards are given for at least a four-hour shift, and small-scale consumer goods rewards are granted through lotto to service personnel and veterans. Long-term service offers of land within Dingoes landholds, is another highly regarded reward, associated with this program.

History

During the early years of the mercenary company’s “occupation” of its landholds, FIDO was not officially named, and simply represented an effort by the mercenaries to provide medical, mechanical and physical support for new settlers and other members of their landholds. Its personnel were volunteers from among its own forces, who were to establish registry services among the new landholds, give emergency and preventative health assistance, fresh water and waste disposal, and to assist in maintenance of any vehicle fleets available to the community.

In late-3030, the 1st Platoon was relocated following the eruption of the Volcán de Fuego in north-western San Isabel. Sent to assist the local emergency crews responding to the troubles, the unit’s waste disposal and water purification equipment helped the search crews and mitigated much of the disaster. A news report published by Master Tech April O’Neil further painted the Iron Dingoes in a better light, showcasing the operations of the * Fraternal Iron Dingoes Organization (FIDO) teams across the entire organization. The 1st continues to serve in the region.

The 5th Platoon was also dispatched in late-3030 to serve in * The Independent Territory of Borealis, based from the isolated community of Borealis Town, soon after the Iron Dingoes acquired Borealis Corporation.

Today, the organization is considered the primary community outreach program to the Iron Dingoes, and is popular among its citizens for its free services to registered members of its landholds, and its formal lotto program which awards popular consumer electronics to members of the local population.
